Sleep is just as important for dogs as it is for humans. It's during rest that the body regenerates, renews cells, and regains energy after a busy day. Dogs sleep significantly more than humans—on average, 12 to 18 hours a day. Puppies need the most sleep for proper development, and senior dogs, due to their slower metabolism, rest even longer.
It's worth remembering that a well-rested dog is a happy dog – they have more energy, are more playful, respond better to stimuli, and are calmer. Sleep deprivation can lead to apathy, irritability, and even health problems.
